A week-long vibrant cultural confluence, Parva-25, which showcased Karnataka’s rich heritage through music, dance, theatre, and spirited competitions at the National Institute of Technology-Karnataka (NIT-K), Surathkal, ended on Sunday (November 2).
Hosted by the Kannada Vedike, the event was held to mark the 70th Karnataka Rajyotsava and brought together students, faculty, and alumni.
A special attraction was the staging of the Kannada drama ‘Panchabootha 25’, written by K. Gundanna. It featured artists and musicians from the NIT-K family, in collaboration with NIT Calicut and MIT Manipal.
The celebrations showcased a wide range of events that reflected unity and cultural pride across the campus. Highlights included ‘Sobagu’, a curated display of classical and folk performances; literary events such as poetry recitations, debates, and storytelling in Kannada; a Kannada movie screening that celebrated regional cinema; a music concert featuring student bands and staff ensembles; a Karnataka Food Fest offering authentic regional cuisine; and ‘Startup Comedy’, a light-hearted segment blending innovation and humour, a release from NIT-K said.
