There is no question of the AIADMK government sharing power with its alliance partners irrespective of what the alliance partners may claim, said the party’s senior leader M. Thambidurai in Krishnagiri on Thursday (November 20, 2025).
“There has never been power-sharing with alliance partners in the history of Tamil Nadu’s politics and the next government that will be formed by AIADMK under the Chief Ministership of Edappadi K Palaniswami will not share power with its alliance partners. T hey can claim no share in the government,” said Mr. Thambidurai.
Addressing cadre at a party event in Bargur, he added, “Congress did not have a majority in 1952 yet Rajaji (C. Rajagopalachari) formed a minority government without sharing power. So did Anna (C. N. Annadurai) in 1967 who formed an alliance but did not share power.” The same was the case with MGR (M. G. Ramachandran) and Jayalalithaa, he said.
“There are some saying that they will be part of the cabinet of the AIADMK government. Any one can fancy anything. But, AIADMK cadre and the people of Tamil Nadu will reject a joint cabinet,” he added.
