C.N. Vijayakumari, Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies and Head of the Sanskrit Department at Kerala University, has been appointed as a member of the Court of Pondicherry University.
She was nominated by the President to the central university’s supreme governing body.
Meanwhile, Prof. Vijayakumari, who has been embroiled in a controversy over the PhD degree of a research scholar, was waylaid by a large number of students at the Karyavattom campus of the university. The protesters raised slogans against the Dean and Vice Chancellor in-charge Mohanan Kunnummal during the demonstration that lasted nearly an hour.
