Andhra Pradesh extended welfare support to nearly 65 lakh beneficiaries under NTR Bharosa pension scheme, said Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar, on Monday. Participating in the pension distribution drive at Yeleswarapalem in Bapatla district, the Minister handed over pensions at the doorsteps of beneficiaries and reviewed the delivery of government services.

Mr. Ravi Kumar said that the coalition government, led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, had earmarked over ₹34,000 crore to ensure timely pensions. He interacted with villagers to assess the functioning of village secretariats and verified whether welfare schemes were reaching all eligible families. Criticising the previous YSRCP regime, he said that not a single spouse pension was granted earlier, however, the present government had sanctioned more than one lakh.

A tractor was also delivered to a local farmer under a subsidy scheme. The Minister said the government was offering 90% subsidy on key farm machinery and up to 100% subsidy for SC and ST farmers. He said the current administration had cleared all pending paddy procurement dues and directly credited payments to farmers.

Later, he distributed 162 free bicycles to students of Mailavaram Zilla Parishad High School, appreciating NREDCAP and ASSIST for supporting the initiative. Over 5,300 bicycles were provided across Addanki to improve school attendance. Mr. Ravi Kumar said government schools were being upgraded, adding that 16,300 qualified teachers had been recruited through DSC.

He also inspected the mid-day meal scheme and instructed officials to maintain strict quality standards. Parents, students, and local leaders participated in the programmes.
