A second-year B.Sc. Nursing student, identified as Pallavi (19), allegedly died by suicide late on Thursday night. She was studying at PES Nursing College, Kuppam.
A native of Kuppam mandal, Pallavi is reported to have jumped from the third floor of the girls’ hostel. She sustained critical injuries and was rushed to the area hospital, where she died while undergoing treatment.
The incident triggered mild tension on the campus, with parents and students expressing concern over the safety of girl students in the hostel. The Kuppam police have registered a case and are investigating. Those in distress can seek help by contacting helpline number 100.
