Government officers and staff at the Chief Secretariat took a pledge to end child marriage as part of the national campaign of the Ministry of Women and Child Development for a “Child Marriage-Free India”.
Chief Secretary Sharat Chauhan, administered the pledge to the participants. A. Muthamma, Commissioner-Secretary read out the Tamil version of the pledge on the occasion.
The pledge is an exhortation to make every effort against child marriage, ensure that no child marriage takes place in family, neighbourhood, report any such attempt to authorities and raise voice for the education and safety of all children and extend support to the creation of a ‘Child Marriage-Free Bharat’.
