A 29-year-old labourer was killed and three others injured after a speeding goods carrier rammed into a gravel-laden lorry on Mailardevpally road in the wee hours of Saturday (November 29).
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Kamaluddin, a resident of Kishanbagh. The injured included the goods carrier driver, Shahrukh Khan, 32, along with passengers Jalaluddin Ansari, 28, and Hasmuddin, 27, all from Jalpally.
The accident was reported around 2.30 a.m. According to Mailardevpally Inspector P. The lorry cleaner, who was guiding the driver, narrowly escaped a tragedy.

The impact caused grievous injuries to Kamaluddin, who was rushed to Osmania General Hospital. He succumbed while undergoing treatment. The other three, who sustained minor injuries, were administered first aid and later taken into custody along with the lorry driver for further enquiry. A case has been registered and an investigation is in progress.
