A one-day orientation programme was conducted at the Telangana State Police headquarters on Tuesday for IPS probationary officers allotted to the State. The officers- Mandhare Soham Sunil, Rahul Kant, Ayasha Fatima from the 2023 batch and Manisha Nehra from the 2024 batch — visited various wings of the DGP office to gain first-hand exposure to their functioning.

The probationers began their visit by calling on Additional DGP (Law and Order) Mahesh M. Bhagwat, who briefed them on mechanisms for monitoring law and order in the State and the operational challenges involved. They were later oriented on key aspects of policing by senior officials across departments.

Additional Inspector General of Police (Law and Order) Ramana Kumar explained the State’s organisational structure, while Additional DGP (Technical Services) V. V. Srinivasa Rao briefed them on police computer services and communications. IGP (Provisioning and Logistics) M. Ramesh outlined the provisions and logistics framework, and Additional DGP Swati Lakra explained organisational administration. Additional DGP Charu Sinha briefed the officers on initiatives for women’s safety.

Following their training at the Telangana State Police Academy, the probationers will begin district training across different units in the State. Mandhare Soham Sunil from Maharashtra will undergo training in the Karimnagar commissionerate, while Rahul Kant from Jharkhand will be posted to Adilabad district. Ayesha Fatima from Madhya Pradesh will train in Siddipet Commissionerate, and Rajasthan native Manisha Nehra will be assigned to Mulugu district.
