A total of 5,02,256 lakh electors across Coimbatore district have been identified under categories proposed for deletion as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.
According to data compiled till Saturday evening, the district has 32,25,198 electors, of whom 1,13,592 have been marked under ‘death’, 76,096 under ‘absent’, 2,91,928 under ‘shifted’, 20,245 as already enrolled, and 395 under ‘others’ — all falling under categories proposed to be deleted from the rolls. Total digitisation of enumeration forms stands at 80.89%.
In Mettupalayam, which has 3,13,810 electors, officials have marked 40,893 voters. Digitisation has reached 86.97%.
In Sulur, with 3,38,847 electors, 43,210 have been marked based on field verification. Digitisation stands at 85.04%.
In Kavundampalayam, the district’s largest segment with 5,01,711 electors, officials have marked 63,456. Digitisation stands at 73.58%.
In Coimbatore (North), which has 3,50,451 electors, 64,952 have been marked. Digitisation has reached 80.38%.
In Thondamuthur, with 3,49,337 electors, 69,878 have been marked. Digitisation stands at 79.48%.
In Coimbatore (South), which has 2,45,548 electors, 46,377 have been marked. Digitisation has reached 81.12%.
In Singanallur, with 3,41,366 electors, 54,187 have been marked. Digitisation stands at 75.90%.
In Kinathukadavu, which has 3,56,808 electors, 57,932 have been marked. Digitisation stands at 82.65%.
In Pollachi, with 2,29,230 electors, field staff have marked 31,680 voters. Digitisation has reached 86.19%.
In Valparai, which has 1,98,090 electors, 29,691 have been marked. Digitisation stands at 85.01%.
Officials are continuing verification and digitisation work across the district.
As part of the SIR exercise, Coimbatore District Collector and District Election Officer Pavankumar G. Giriyappanavar has released the list of Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) for all the 10 Assembly constituencies in the district. The designated officers will be available to assist voters with grievances and queries related to the ongoing revision from December 6 to 10, between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
