Divisional Railway Manager of Southern Railway’s Palakkad Division Madhukar Roat on Thursday, October 30, inaugurated the newly established Media Room and Studio of its Public Relations Department, said to be the first in the zone, at the Divisional Office in Palakkad.
The inauguration, thus, marked a historic milestone for the division, said a release. The facility will serve as a dedicated space for content creation, press interactions and digital media communication, thereby enhancing the division’s outreach and transparency. Additional DRM K. Anil Kumar, Chief Project Manager/Gatisakti S. Jayakrishnan and others were present.
As part of the event, the first edition of “Pragati”, the in-house magazine of the Public Relations Department, was unveiled by Mr. Roat. Pragati is the first in-house magazine of any Railway Division in Indian Railways, showcasing the division’s achievements, initiatives, and human stories from the field.
The DRM appreciated the efforts of the Public Relations team in creating a communication platform that highlights the division’s progress. During the media interaction, the DRM also shared updates on key infrastructure and passenger amenity works currently in progress in the division. He said construction of a new pit line at a cost of ₹22.72 crore was 80% complete at Palakkad Town Station, which upon commissioning helps introduction of more trains from Palakkad.
