The Panchamukha Veeranjaneya Swamy Temple in Kothuru Tadepalli village will host Mahavishnu Yagam from December 27, 2025, to January 11, 2026.
Sri Shanmukha Veda Vidyaalayam principal and vedic scholar Kappagantu Janaki Rama Sarma explained that the Mahavishnu Yagam is dedicated to Lord Rama, the divine form of Vishnu, and is conducted as a complete Valmiki Ramayana Havan. Devotees participate in special worship, homas (fire rituals) and ceremonial activities, all centred around Lord Rama’s divine intentions.
While the Yagam primarily focuses on Lord Rama, rituals for other deities are also included, such as Narayana Ashtakshari Homa. The name ‘Mahavishnu Yagam’ reflects the holistic nature of the ceremony, encompassing a full spectrum of Vedic rites rather than being limited to a ‘Rama Yagam.’ This ensures a complete and spiritually comprehensive observance.
The Yagam will begin on Pushya Bahula Saptami (December 27) and conclude on Pushya Bahula Ashtami (January 11) under the divine guidance of Sri Veeranjaneyaswami. Devotees are encouraged to participate, receive Tirtha Prasadam, and seek the blessings of the deity.
Daily rituals begin at 6 am with Rudrabhishekam, Navagraha Abhishekam and regular worship. From 8.30 am, homas including Rudra Homa, Chandi Saptashati Homa, Mahalakshmi Homa, and Ramayana Shloka Havan are performed, followed by Kumkuma Archana, Sindoorarchana and Nagavalli Dalaarchana. Afternoon ceremonies feature Mahanivedana, Neerajan, Mantra Pushpalu and Tirtha Prasadam distribution. Evening Kalyanotsavams, special Vedic recitations and rituals such as Aruna Parayana, Surya Namaskara and various Vratams will be conducted on designated days.
The Yagam concludes with Maha Poornahuti and Sri Rama Mahasamrajya Pattabhishekam at 8 a.m. on January 11. Devotees may contact the temple at 9246524443 for further details and are warmly invited to witness and partake in this spiritually significant event.
