The Madras Regimental Centre (MRC) in Wellington, Coonoor, conducted the Passing Out Parade of Agniveers Batch-06 (AV-06) at the iconic Srinagesh Barracks on Tuesday.
The parade marched with exemplary standards on the tunes of national anthem played by the brass band and marked the formal completion of rigorous military training undertaken by the recruits who now will join the field units of Indian Army under the Agnipath Scheme, a press release by the MRC said.
The parade was reviewed by Lieutenant General Girish Kalia, Director General of Territorial Army. In the immaculately organised event with stirring notes of military bands, the newly attested Agniveers marched with flawless precision and discipline, reflecting the rigorous training, discipline and regimental spirit imbibed during the 31 weeks military training. The parade was a proud moment for the recruits, their instructors and their families, the press release stated.
Mr. Kalia, during his address, complimented the Agniveers for their “resilience, determination and exemplary standards of marching displayed during the parade.” He exhorted them to carry forward the rich legacy of the regiment and serve the nation with unwavering loyalty, bravery and commitment.
The Reviewing Officer also highlighted recent operational success of the Indian Army and encouraged the young Agniveers to remain committed to duty, nation-first ethos and professionalism. During the ceremony, outstanding recruits were felicitated for excellence in academics, drill, firing and overall performance. He also highlighted the importance of the Agnipath Scheme in channelising the strength of India’s youth towards nation building.
