Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan reviews Village Secretariat structure and staff promotions with ministers and senior officials in Mangalagiri on Tuesday
Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has directed officials to carry out a comprehensive study on the structure, functioning and staffing patterns of the Village Secretariat system, with a detailed report to be submitted by March next year.
Chairing a review meeting with a team of Ministers and senior officials at his Mangalagiri camp office on Tuesday, he stressed the need to examine how various line departments operate at the village level and how Village Secretariat staff can be more effectively integrated with them.
The meeting was attended by Ministers Ponguru Narayana, K. Achchennaidu, Vangalapudi Anitha, Anagani Sathyaprasad, Dola Balaveeranjaneya Swamy, Gottipati Ravikumar and Gummidi Sandhya Rani.
Discussions centred on granting promotions to Village Secretariat employees, exploring ways to align them with different departments and ensuring that the promotion process does not disrupt the Secretariat system’s structure or overall functioning.
The Deputy Chief Minister instructed that the study must balance administrative stability with career progression for staff. He suggested holding monthly review meetings, if required, to expedite promotions and address operational gaps.
Senior officials from GSWS and the Panchayat Raj, Rural Development, Social Welfare, Agriculture, Home, Health, Revenue and Finance Departments participated in the meeting.
