Permission granted for crusher unit revoked in Permbalur district

The district administration has revoked the permission granted for establishing a stone crusher unit at Sengunam.

At a recent grievance redressal meeting, farmers of the district had complained that stone quarries and crushers functioning in Kavulpalayam area were causing air and water pollution, affecting farming operation. A new crusher had been permitted at an agricultural land at Sengunam and the permission should be withdrawn.

Based on the orders of Collector N. Mirunalini, the Revenue Divisional Officer and the Tahsildar inspected the site. Following this, permission granted for the stone crusher was revoked, a press release said.
