KARIMNAGAR
In a shocking incident, a second year post-graduate medical (anaesthesia) student of Prathima Institute of Medical Sciences, Nagunur, identified as E. Srinivas, allegedly committed suicide at his house in Karimnagar late on Monday night due to “financial distress”.
He allegedly administered himself with a fatal dose of intravenous injection.
Sources said that Srinivas reportedly borrowed large sums of money as bank loans for some of his friends.
He subsequently landed in a debt trap after his friends refused to repay the money.
He took the extreme step, unable to bear the mounting debt burden, sources added.
He reportedly joined the PG medical course under in-service quota for government doctors.
A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
