Deputy Commissioners of Police Bindurani R.N. and Sundar Raj conducted a surprise raid on the Mysuru Central Prison on Tuesday.
The operation began around 5 a.m. and continued till 7.45 a.m., with support from four Assistant Commissioners of Police, eight police inspectors, 110 police personnel, the ASC team and a dog squad.
During the inspection, the team seized one keypad mobile phone with a SIM card, one gram of ganja, beedi and cigarette packets, four ganja-smoking pipes, and ₹5,000 in cash.
Following the seizure, an FIR was registered at the Mandi Police Station under Section 42 of the Karnataka Prisons Act, 2002, and Section 20(b)(ii)(A) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
