P. Prakash Babu, Vice-Chancellor, Pondicherry University, called on the Vice President of India and Chancellor of Pondicherry University C. P. Radhakrishnan in New Delhi, on Thursday (November 6, 2025).
A press note from the University said during the meeting, the Vice-Chancellor presented a detailed account of the University’s growth, infrastructure development, and sustained achievements over the past four decades.
The Vice-Chancellor also briefed the Chancellor on major milestones accomplished by the University in its 40-year journey, including advancements in interdisciplinary research, collaborations with national and international institutions, and contributions towards societal development through education and outreach, the press note said.
The Vice President, while appreciating the University’s efforts, offered suggestions for its future growth. He advised the introduction of new and innovative academic programmes aligned with emerging national and global needs and the development of modern sports infrastructure to nurture holistic student development.
He also sought enhanced institutional contribution towards the vision of “Vikst Bharat@2047” through research, innovation, and community engagement. Among his suggestions were the introduction of new job-oriented programmes and expansion of infrastructure in the main and off-site campuses, the note added.
