President Droupadi Murmu offered prayers at the temple of Goddess Sri Padmavati Ammavaru, at Tiruchanur in Tirupati on Thursday.
Even as the annual nine-day Brahmotsavams were currently under way, the presidential entourage reached the temple straight from the Renigunta airport.
Temple priests extended Ms. Murmu a ceremonial reception at the temple. Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, Home Minister V. Anitha, legislator Pulivarthi Nani, TTD Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal, district Collector S. Venkateswar, and TTD board member G. Bhanuprakash Reddy, among others, were present.
The President was escorted into the sanctum sanctorum by the officials, where she prayed in silence for a few minutes. Later, she was presented the temple ‘prasadam’ by the priests and officials.
