President’s visit to Malavalli: Top officials review preparations

Ahead of President Droupadi Murmu’s visit to inaugurate the 1,066th Jayanti Mahotsava of Suttur Shivarathri Shivayogigalu in Malavalli on December 17, senior officials on December 8 inspected key locations in the town and reviewed the ongoing preparations.

Inspector-General of Police (Southern Range) Boralingaiah, Deputy Commissioner Kumar, and other officials examined the helipad under construction near Marehalli on the town’s outskirts. They reviewed the progress of the green room, removal of electric poles, levelling of the ground, the route designated for the President’s movement, and other essential arrangements.

The team later visited the guest house and the taluk hospital, where they discussed preparedness with administrative officers. They instructed medical staff to remain available round the clock and directed officials to ensure all emergency facilities are in place.

The Jayanti celebrations are scheduled from December 17 to 22 and will be attended by the President, Chief Minister, and several Union and State Ministers. Officials also reviewed public parking arrangements, reservation of all lodges, community halls and resorts in the taluk for VIP accommodation, regulation of flex banners to avoid law-and-order issues, and deployment of adequate police security.

At the main venue, they inspected the stage setup, entry points for dignitaries, parking areas, food arrangements, drinking water supply, and other amenities.

Superintendent of Police Mallikarjun Baladandi, Assistant Commissioner Shivamurthy, tahsildar Lokesh, Town Municipal Council Chief Officer Nagaratna, Public Works Department Engineer Somashekar, Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation Executive Engineer Prem Kumar, and representatives of the Jayanthi Mahotsava Vidya Peetha were among those present.
