Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a road show from Bannanje Narayana Guru Circle to Kalsanka between 11.40 a.m. and noon during his visit to the temple town of Udupi on November 28, said BJP district unit president Kuthyaru Naveen Shetty.

Mr. Shetty told reporters at Udupi that following the road show, Mr. Modi will enter the Sri Krishna Mutt complex through the Mutt parking area and Car Street to have a darshan of Lord Krishna. Later, he will join devotees in the mass Laksha Geeta Parayana, organised by Paryaya Sri Puttige Mutt, and then address the public. He will leave Udupi at 1.45 p.m.

Preparations under way

Meanwhile, the BJP district unit has been making elaborate arrangements to accord a grand welcome to Mr. Modi. Mr. Shetty said people dressed as coastal cultural specialities, specifically Yakshagana and tiger dancers, along with Lord Krishna, will greet the Prime Minister at three locations along the road show route.

Arrangements have been made to accommodate nearly 30,000 people on the road flanks to welcome Mr. Modi. The BJP has urged those interested in attending the road show to be present along the Bannanje-Kalsanka stretch of NH 169A by 10.30 a.m. on November 28. The party has directed maximum participation by karyakartas from all 1,112 booths in the district.

Mr. Shetty said Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, State BJP president B.Y. Vijayendra, MPs Kota Srinivas Poojary and Captain Brijesh Chowta, and other senior leaders will attend the event.

Meanwhile, Mr. Poojary will inaugurate a mega Swadeshi Festival to highlight the Atmanirbhar and Swavalambi Bharat at the Raita Seva Kendra in Doddanagudde, Udupi, on November 27 to commemorate Mr. Modi’s visit to Udupi.

Mr. Shetty said the festival will be open to the public till December 1 from 10 a.m. to 8.30 p.m. The festival will feature the exhibition and sale of products from the village and cottage industry, apiculture industry, and home industry.

Officials from various government departments will also provide details about several Union and State government schemes to people.
