Raichur district has recorded 39.86% sowing for the 2025-26 rabi season till Monday.
The target set for sowing is 1,33,955 hectares for the season, of which 53,398 hectares, (39.86%), have been covered so far.
According to sources in the Agriculture Department, sowing began by the start of November and it will continue till the second week of December.
“Farmers, who prepared land after the kharif season, started sowing by the beginning of the month. The farmers, who are yet to harvest their cotton crop, will start sowing late,” the sources said and added that the targeted area will be covered by the end of the sowing season.
Of the 1,33,955 hectares, the target set for Sindhanur taluk is 17,540 hectares and sowing has already been completed in 18,100 hectares (103.19%). Meanwhile, Raichur taluk has recorded the lowest sowing with only 242 hectares covered against a target of 9,600 hectares.
