The storage and hybrid systems will form the backbone of renewable energy in the coming decades and Rajasthan, with its expansive solar parks and cutting-edge grid infrastructure, is poised to lead this shift. The desert State has already achieved the top rank in the solar energy sector.

These views were expressed at the “Global Solar Expo-Rajasthan 2025” in Jaipur on Wednesday (November 26, 2025), with the experts affirming that the State was fast emerging as a magnet for large-scale solar-hybrid, storage and green hydrogen investments. Minister of State for Energy Heeralal Nagar inaugurated the two-day mega exhibition at Rajasthan International Centre.

The exhibition brought together a large number of industry leaders, investors, policymakers, technology experts and start-ups for convergence with the government agencies. The expo was organised jointly by Energy Quotient (EQ) Magazine and C2Z solar and decarbonisation marketplace.

Mr. Nagar said the State government was taking steps to attract investments in the solar energy projects, while the farmers were evincing interest in installing solar pumps and grid-connected plants to reduce their irrigation costs through the Centre’s schemes. “The solar energy has also helped in supplying electricity to agricultural consumers during the day,” he said.

Principal Energy Secretary Ajitabh Sharma said in his address that the State, with its forward-looking policies, was on course to become the country’s biggest green energy hub in the coming years.

The expo witnessed meaningful dialogues on the technology, policy and investment in the renewable energy sector with the participation of over 100 exhibiting companies. The speakers threw light on PM-KUSUM and PM Surya Ghar schemes, rooftop solar plants, hybrid models, firm and dispatchable renewable energy, battery energy storage system, storage solutions, green financing and green hydrogen.

Models of advanced technologies, including solar modules, inverters, battery storage, electric vehicle charging, smart-grid systems and next-generation clean-tech solutions, were exhibited during the event.

Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Bairwa will felicitate the top 100 achievers of India’s solar sector on the second and final day of the exhibition on Thursday (November 27, 2025). Among others, Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation’s Chairman & Managing Director Rohit Gupta was present at the expo’s inaugural session.
