Karnataka Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy on Wednesday paid a surprise visit to the Kempegowda Bus Station after receiving complaints from passengers about flooding and uneven parking areas that were affecting the smooth movement of vehicles during rains.
Passengers had complained to the Minister that the surface in the parking zone was uneven, causing rainwater to stagnate and cause inconvenience to both drivers and commuters. Responding to them, Mr. Reddy directed officials to take up levelling and repair works to ensure hassle-free movement of buses.
During the inspection, the Minister reviewed the progress of ongoing works and instructed officials to complete them in the first phase. He also ordered similar works at two other flood-prone locations in the next phase, according to a release by the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation.
The Minister examined all the bus terminals and directed officials to provide adequate passenger amenities such as drinking water, lighting, and toilets.
