Rayalaseema University student threatens, wields knife over argument on campus

Tension gripped the Rayalaseema University campus in Kurnool on Friday (October 31, 2025) after a first-year engineering student, identified as Balaji Nayak, reportedly wielded a knife following a dispute with fellow student Ajay Nayak.

The tiff, which began as a minor argument on Thursday night, took an ugly turn when Balaji barged into Ajay’s room, threatening him and triggering panic across the campus.

Police rushed to the spot and registered a case. Further investigation is underway with the authorities questioning witnesses and collecting evidence. Though no injuries were reported, the incident led to panic among students, prompting the university officials to review security measures on the campus and hostels. The police said Balaji Nayak’s parents were informed about the incident.
