Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy formally set in motion the process of reconstruction of Adilakshmi Ammavari temple, situated inside Penchalakona temple complex, at Venkatagiri constituency in Tirupati district on Sunday. The redevelopment of the temple has been taken up with an estimated cost of ₹6.50 crore.
Accompanied by Venkatagiri MLA Kurugondla Ramakrishna, Mr. Ramanarayana Reddy arrived at the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple complex to a ceremonial reception by priests and officials. He then laid the foundation stone and participated in a series of traditional rituals including the sacred fire ritual ‘Homam’.
“The advent of NDA alliance government in the State has augured well for temples. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan and IT Minister Nara Lokesh are taking keen interest in transforming temples into sites of spiritual resurgence,” the Minister said.
In undivided Nellore district alone, the government has been extending ₹10,000 per month to 141 temples towards ‘Dhoopa Deepa Naivedyam’, besides sanctioning ₹118.45 crore through CGFS towards uplift of 58 temples.
Meanwhile, Mr. Ramakrishna thanked the Minister for sanctioning funds for the temple, the recently-concluded ‘Poleramma Jatara’ in Venkatagiri, and also for developing Yachavaram temple in Balayapalli mandal.
