Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy affirmed that the Congress cadre would firmly stand with the Gandhi family in their fight against what he termed as false cases related to the National Herald newspaper.

He accused the NDA-led Centre of attempting to divert growing public attention from the ‘vote theft’ campaign launched by Rahul Gandhi by filing fresh cases through the Enforcement Directorate (ED) against Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and others.

Speaking at the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Executive Committee meeting at Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday, the Chief Minister said, “The TPCC is passing a resolution strongly condemning these illegal cases.”

He emphasised that the resolution condemning the cases is aimed at sending a strong message to Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the Congress cadre would rally behind the Gandhi family.

“The Gandhi family sacrificed their lives for the country. They started the National Herald newspaper with their own assets and played a key role in the country’s freedom struggle. Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi worked hard to financially support the families of the National Herald employees,” he said, adding that senior leaders like Mallikarjun Kharge had been taken as board directors to revive the newspaper. He also added that Mr. Rahul Gandhi must be made the Prime Minister of India.

The Chief Minister instructed newly appointed District Congress Committee (DCC) presidents to take responsibility for distributing sarees in coordination with village-level committees. A total of 65 lakh sarees should be distributed in rural areas by the end of December. He warned that action would be taken against any DCC president found neglecting party directives.

Meanwhile, TPCC president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud said that efficient and committed leaders had been entrusted with the DCC president posts after a rigorous exercise by expert AICC observers, noting that the DCC president post is a key position. He urged them to focus on strengthening the party network.

Mr. Mahesh Kumar said that pending corporation posts would be filled within a week to ten days and stressed the need to appoint working presidents without delay. AICC Telangana incharge Meenkashi Natarajan and other leaders, including Ministers, attended the meeting.
