The Greater Chennai Traffic Police (GCTP), in coordination with Tamil Nadu Police Traffic Wardens Organisation, on Wednesday conducted a Road Safety Patrol (RSP) Awareness Program on EVR Salai in Vepery.
RSP cadets and traffic wardens, along with GCTP personnel, were engaged in traffic regulation. A total of 400 helmets were distributed to traffic violators and declarations to follow traffic rules were obtained from them. Road safety tip cards were distributed to pedestrians and motorists.
Additional Commissioner of Police, Traffic, G. Karthikeyan presided over the programme. Helmets will be distributed at 30 major school junctions within GCTP limits on Thursday and Friday, said a press release from GCTP.
