RPF digital assistance system unveiled at Srirangam

At many important wayside stations, the presence of RPF personnel is limited. To enhance responsiveness and provide a modern, digital method for reporting incidents, the proactive RPF Assistance Management System has been developed. According to sources, the system offers passengers an effortless way to seek help during emergencies, lodge complaints, and connect directly with RPF personnel. It is designed to improve communication speed, ensure accurate complaint reporting, and streamline the handling of passenger security concerns.

Before implementation, the system was tested at Tiruchi Junction. Since it received positive feedback, the officials said it had been introduced at Srirangam station.

It is a touch-based, multilingual, user-friendly interface accessible through kiosks installed at railway stations. The system allows passengers to quickly select their issue from predefined categories. They will have to provide all information to seek assistance. It will subsequently reach the RPF personnel. The digitalised complaint will significantly reduces response time and enhances monitoring, documentation, and coordination within the RPF duty network.

The passengers can seek assistance on theft, harassment, suspicious activities, security threats and others.

Sources added that the system was the first such initiative across Indian Railways and was currently being tested in Tiruchi Division. Kiosks are planned to be installed next at Thanjavur and Chidambaram. Based on passenger feedback, the facility will be extended to other important and wayside stations in the division.
