A Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable was shot dead allegedly by his colleague, another head constable in Chhattisgarh’s Raigarh district in the early hours of Wednesday (December 3, 2025), said the police.
The incident occurred at around 4 a.m. at the RPF outpost at Raigarh Railway Station, a police officer said. He added that the motive behind the murder was not clear and the investigation till then (late afternoon) had not brought up anything that suggested any history of animosity between them.
According to preliminary information, head constable KS Lader allegedly fired four rounds from his service pistol at head constable P.K. Mishra, following an argument over an unknown issue. Mishra died on the spot, Station House Officer (SHO) Kuldeep Kumar stated.
The Government Railway Police (GRP) subsequently nabbed the accused from the spot and seized his weapon, the officer added.
