RPF seizes 30 kg of ganja in Tirunelveli

The Railway Protection Force (RPF), Tirunelveli, has seized around 30 kg of ganja, during an inspection at Tirunelveli railway station on Wednesday.

Acting on the instructions of K. Arul Jothi, Inspector General, RPF, Southern Railway, a team of RPF personnel conducted a check for narcotics and prohibited items on an express train.

During the inspection of the train’s unreserved compartments, the officers discovered three unclaimed parcels. Upon opening them, they found approximately 30 kg of ganja concealed inside. The seized item’s worth is estimated to be ₹30 lakh.

The seized contraband was brought to the RPF station and after initial inquiry, it was handed over to the Inspector of Anti Narcotics Intelligence Unit, Thoothukudi, for further investigation.
