Rural women trained in event management skills

Telangana Chamber of Events Industry (TCEI), an industry body of the events business of the State, with over 450 members, imparted training in different crafts of event management to 180 rural women drawn from 32 districts of Telangana.

The five-day residential training was conducted at the National Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Management (NITHM) campus at Gachibowli sponsored by Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP).

The women candidates were trained in six different crafts of event management — Decoration Techniques and New Trends, Sound & Light Management, Event Production, Catering & Food Services, Make-up and Grooming and Photo & Videography.

Vice-Chancellor of Sammakka Sarakka Central Tribal University in Mulugu Y L Srinivas, was the chief guest at the valedictory. CEO of SERP D Divya and Director NITHM V Venkata Ramana were also present.
