Vikrama Simhapuri University (VSU) National Service Scheme (NSS) and My Bharat Nellore on Friday (October 31, 2025) organised “Unity March” from VRC Grounds to Current Office Centre in Nellore, to mark 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

Nellore Municipal Corporation (NMC) Commissioner Y.O. Nandan was the chief guest. He along with VSU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Allam Srinivasarao paid tributes to the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who had served the country as the first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister.

Remembering the services of India’s Iron Man, Mr. Nandan said, “He is the architect of the country’s unity. His administrative vision and discipline continue to be an ideal for the government system today. The nation will become stronger if the youth follow the path he has shown. Every citizen must move forward with a spirit of national unity and harmony.”

Prof. Srinivasarao said, “Patel’s life stands as a symbol of national integrity, and he is an inspiration to all. His strong determination and leadership during the Indian freedom struggle and in the unification of the country remain a guide even today. Students must inculcate his patriotism, honesty, discipline and spirit of service. That is the true tribute we can pay him.”

My Bharat Coordinator P. Surendra Reddy said, “The dedication and administrative skills of great personalities like Patel are an ideal for every Indian. The youth must remember the distinguished role he played in the unification of the country, take inspiration from his sacrifices, and move forward in service to society.”

Dr. A. Mahendra Reddy, District Youth Officer, stated, “The unity, integrity, and spirit of service shown by Sardar Patel must be instilled in every Indian youth. The country’s development is possible through the path he showed. The role of the youth in nation-building through social service is very crucial.”

VSU Registrar Dr. K. Suneetha, NSS Coordinator Dr. Allam Udayashankar, NSS officers Dr. B.V. Subbareddy, Dr. Shankar, and Dr. Sucharitha; My Bharat Coordinators N.K. Yashwanth, Subramanyam Reddy, Y. Phani Raju, and L. Rajasekhar, along with university faculty and a large number of students, participated in the programme.
