“Students are taken to our four plants in India every week, where they learn about how works are executed in a disciplined manner with precision. They are conveyed the importance of discipline in other aspects of life, including being sensitive on road,” Mr.Nagaraj said.
The students are also educated on the importance of road safety including lane-discipline, helmet and seat-belt compliance. They are also made to take a pledge that they will not allow their parents to operate vehicle without wearing helmet or seat-belt, he said.
Mr.Nagaraj appealed to the principals and school teachers to utilise their Honda’s video training modules and make the students learn about road safety from it. These videos are made as per the different age group (5-8, 9-15 and 16-18). These multiple set of videos are developed focusing on the children’s psychological aspect to sensitise them to the importance of the road safety. A total of 1,600 school and over 9 lakh students have utilised these videos, he said.
