Second flood warning issued as water level reaches 138 ft. in Mullaperiyar dam

The Assistant Engineer (Water Resources Department), Thekkadi, has issued the second flood warning in Mullaperiyar dam as water level reached 138 feet at 1 a.m. on Monday.

Dindigul and Theni districts recorded light rainfall on Monday. Dindigul experienced light drizzle to mild rain. Dindigul Collector S. Saravanan asked the heads of schools to decide on declaring holiday following rains. As a precautionary measure, boating activities in Kodaikanal lake were suspended for the day.

Bathing in Suruli waterfalls in Theni district has been suspended. Forest Department officials said tourists would be allowed to bathe only after the influx of water came to normal level.
