Madurai City Police have made elaborate security arrangement for the Men’s Junior World Cup Hockey Tournament to be held at Race Course Ground from November 28 to December 8.
A statement said that no vehicles would be allowed to be parked on the roads around the Race Course Ground.
Only the vehicles carrying the hockey teams would be allowed to park their vehicles Lotus Tank Junction on Alagarkoil Road – Race Course Road and Youth Hostel junction and back to Lotus Tank junction.
All vehicles using the Race Course Road from Lotus Tank junction to proceed to Melur Road would be allowed through Periyar statue junction.
Vehicles coming Melur Road and proceeding towards Lotus Tank junction should go to Alagarkoil Road by taking left turn at Youth Hostel junction and DIG office junction.
The police have provided designated gates at the Race Course Ground for the entry of players, press people, VIPs and spectators.
Spectators coming by two-wheelers and cars from Gokhale Road, Natham Road and Alagarkoil Road shold park their vehicles at the vacant land opposite Passport Office.
Vehicles coming from Melur Road can drop the spectators at Youth hostel junction and park their vehicles on the Old Kamaraj College and Madurai Institute of Social Sciences campus.
