A 75-year-old man was killed after being hit by a car driven by a 59-year-old woman at Nungambakkam in Chennai on Saturday (November 22, 2025) night.Â
A senior official of the City Traffic police said M. Harshini was a resident of Josier Street in Nungambakkam. On Saturday night, Harshini had returned home in her car and was planning to park it. As she tried to drive in reverse, she inadvertently stepped on the accelerator instead of the break.
In the impact, the car hit D. Adhi Kesavan, a resident of Velachery, who was working as a security guard in a nearby apartment and also a 42-year-old woman named Priya. While Adhi Kesavan was killed on the spot, Priya escaped with minor injury.Â
The Triplicane traffic investigation police, on being alerted about the incident, sent the body of Adhi Kesavan to Government Kilpauk Medical College Hospital for post-mortem and have arrested the woman driver.Â
