The BSE Investors Protection Fund (IPF) hosted a regional seminar in Coimbatore on Thursday to improve investor awareness.
Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Board of India Tuhin Kanta Pandey, who spoke on the importance of informed investing, robust regulations, and India’s rapidly evolving capital market landscape, said, “India’s capital markets are expanding at an unprecedented pace and with this growth comes a greater responsibility to ensure that every investor is informed, empowered and protected. Investor awareness is the foundation of a resilient market ecosystem and initiatives like Investor awareness programmes and regional investor seminars have helped strengthen awareness in smaller cities.”
Sundararaman Ramamurthy, Managing Director and CEO of BSE, highlighted the company’s continued commitment to enhancing investor education and market accessibility. As markets deepen and digital participation rises, empowering investors with the right knowledge, tools and safeguards becomes even more critical, he said.
The event brought together nearly 400 investors, market participants, and industry leaders. The seminar aimed to educate investors on financial markets, cyber safety, and retirement planning.
The event is part of BSE IPF’s ongoing efforts to promote financial literacy and empower investors across India, according to a press release.
