A seminar titled ‘Effective methods for dispute avoidance and resolution in shipping and trade’ was organised by Rajah & Tann, a Singapore law firm, in collaboration with Vizag law firm Tatavarty Law Chambers here on Friday (November 21).
Presentations were made by accredited specialists in maritime and shipping law Jainil Bhandari and V. Bala, an expert in restructuring and charter party disputes. Divyesh Menon, an expert in construction agreements, also spoke.
In his opening remarks Capt. Sushil Shankar, Solicitor, England and Wales, said this was the first time that a foreign law firm was a holding a conference on dispute resolution in shipping and trade in Visakhapatnam.
Ragam Kishore, MD and vice-chairperson of Vizag Seaports Pvt. Ltd, Capt. S. Diwakar, MD and CEO of DCIL and T.V.S.K. Kanaka Raju, managing partner of Tatavarty Law Chambers also participated in the panel discussions, moderated by Capt. Sushil Shankar.
The participants included those from maritime trade G. Sambasiva Rao, Prabhakar and Gopal from Vedanta.
