Seminar on ‘emerging trends in pharmacy’ held at AU

The AU College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (AUCoPS) in association with Indian Pharmaceutical Association organised a one-day international seminar on “Emerging Trends in Pharmacy” at the department’s old building on the university premises, on the eve of Andhra University’s centenary celebrations and Platinum Jubilee celebrations of AUCoPS, here on Friday (November 28, 2025), according to a release here on Saturday (November 29).

AUCoPS principal Prof. G. Girijasankar presented the presidential remarks of the seminar while AU Vice-Chancellor Prof. G.P. Raja Sekhar addressed the gathering as the chief guest. The seminar convener Prof. K. Eswar Kumar narrated its importance.

Ajinomoto Biopharma Services India Pvt. Ltd, Visakhapatnam, Managing Director K.V.V. Raju addressed the gathering as the guest of honour and spoke in length about the knowledge, skill development, and capability needed to become a promising health professional.

Prof. D.R. Krishna, Adjunct Professor, University of Pacific, California, delivered the key note address on the topic “Innovate, Integrate, Individualise: Clinical Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy for next generation”.

Manoj P. Jadhav, CEO, ISHA Therapeutics, New Jersey, delivered a virtual talk on the role of translational Clinical Pharmacology in Drug Development.

“Concept of Drug safety and Pharmacovigilance” lecture was delivered by S.D. Rajendran, Director and Head Operations –SCITUS Pharma Services Pvt. Ltd., Chennai.

Prof. Surulivel Rajan, Head of Pharmacy Practice Department, Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Manipal, delivered a talk on “Concepts of Pharmacometrics – From Drug Discovery to Clinical Practice”.

Nearly 110 members presented scientific papers in the form of e-posters. Prizes were given by the valedictory session chief guest Prof. T.V. Narayana, President – South East Asian Regional Pharmaceutical Forum.
