Senior lawyers K.M. Dhandapani, former Public Prosecutor and former Member of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Council, and T.A. Selvaraj, Special Public Prosecutor (‘Q’ Branch and ATS) and former CBI Special Public Prosecutor, were honoured on the occasion of Advocates’ Day celebration held at Nirmala College for Women on Wednesday.

Rev. L. Thomas Aquinas, Bishop of Coimbatore Diocese, presented the awards instituted by Jai Hind Foundation and The Fort of Patriotism.

He highlighted the indispensable role of legal professionals in sustaining justice and democratic values. Nirmala College for Women presented ‘Humanitarian Excellence Award’ to V. Nandakumar of Jai Hind Foundation for exemplary service to humanity and commitment to social upliftment. Nirmala College secretary Sr. A. Kulandai Therese, Principal Mary Fabiola, faculty Aseda Fatima R. and Manju Kumari, president of Towards a Serene Kovai (TASK) Gurdip Singh Anand spoke.
