The Election Commission will start the month-long special intensive revision (SIR) in Puducherry on November 4.

Chief Electoral Officer P. Jawahar told media on Monday, the Booth Level Officers (BLOs), who are government employees, will conduct door to door visits in all the booths in the four regions of Union Territory for enumeration exercise from November 4.

The BLOs will visit thrice the houses of all the voters who figure in the existing electoral rolls to distribute enumeration forms. They will be assisted by the Block Level Agents of political parties.

Each voter whose names figure in the list will have to fill the forms and handover it to the BLOs. The BLOs will help the voter in matching/linking with either their name or their relative’s name in the last SIR held in 2002, he said.

“In case any voter remain absent during all the three visits, there will be an option of filling up the form online. Camps will also be held during the period. The SIR is conducted by the Commission to ensure no genuine voter is excluded from the rolls and no ineligible voter is included,” he said.

The draft electoral roll will be published on December 9. There is a window for claims and objections period between December 9 and January 8 where the voter can submit their claims for inclusion in the electoral rolls . Hearing on the claims will be done from December 9 to January, 31, 2026. The final electoral rolls will be published on February 7, next year.
