The ACB court in Nellore has granted four days custody of Tirumala ghee adulteration case accused Delhi based trader Ajaya Kumar Sugandh (A-16) and RSSV Subrahmanyam (A-29) to the Special Investigation Team (SIT).
The joint SIT monitored by the Supreme Court filed the petition seeking for five days, while the court granted the same for four days, viz., December 09-12, 2025.
Assistant public prosecutor Jaya Sekhar, in course of the hearing, presented detailed arguments and showed legal precedent to explain the need for custodial interrogation of the duo, in view of their alleged collusion with representatives of the private dairies in supplying adulterated ghee.
The CBI SIT will begin questioning the accused at its camp office in Tirupati from Tuesday (December 09).
Meanwhile, the court also dismissed the bail plea filed by A-16 Ajaya Kumar Sugandh, who is in judicial remand in CRL MP No. 552/2025.
