Six individuals were arrested and narcotics worth over ₹10 lakh were seized in a series of raids carried out by the excise enforcement teams across Hyderabad and Sangareddy districts.
The seized contraband includes nearly one kilogram of hashish oil and over a kilogram of ganja that was being trafficked and sold in different parts of the city.
In the largest seizure, the Sangareddy excise enforcement team intercepted 964 grams of hashish oil, valued at around ₹10 lakh, which was being transported illegally from the Visakhapatnam Agency area to Hyderabad. The operation was conducted along the Kandi–Shankarpally route following a tip-off received by the Medak Enforcement team.
The accused, identified as Anil Kumar Yadav of Brindavan Colony in Katedan, Hyderabad, was arrested. Officials said Anil is a repeat offender with multiple cases in the past for smuggling narcotics such as ganja, drugs, and hashish oil.
The accused and the seized contraband were handed over to the Sangareddy excise station for further investigation.
In another operation, the State Task Force (STF) B team targeted illegal ganja sales in Sikh Village, near Secunderabad. Acting on a tip-off, officials seized 200 packets of ganja weighing 880 grams from one Sohil, who confessed to bringing the contraband from Nagpur for sale in Hyderabad. The seized material and his mobile phone were handed over to the Secunderabad excise station.
Meanwhile, in Uppal’s Vijayapuri Colony, STF officers seized 325 grams of ganja and arrested four persons identified as Ravi Teja, Jagadishwar, Dilip, and Charan.
