A one-day training programme on “Building Effective Helping Skills – Awareness Programme for Future Practitioners” was conducted by the Department of Social Work and the Department of Clinical Psychology at Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam (SPMVV), with the support of Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (PM-USHA) Soft Component 34, here on Monday (November 24, 2025).

Ramya, Trainer from SRK Technologies, participated as the Resource Person for the programme. She provided comprehensive training to the students of Social Work and Clinical Psychology on the basic and advanced skills required in the counselling process. As part of the training, she touched on topics such as empathy, active listening, observation skills, and other competencies for professional development.

The training programme included various activities for the participants including, group exercises, and role plays. It was organised under the guidance of Prof. K. Anuradha, Head, Department of Social Work, and Prof. N. Rajini, Head, Department of Clinical Psychology. Also, the professors, project assistants and scholars from both the departments participated in the programme.
