IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu has received an invitation to visit Germany, as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between Telangana and Germany, especially in areas of technology, industry, innovation and international business.

Member of the German Bundestag, official spokesperson for Foreign Policy of the AfD Parliamentary Group and Chairman of the Indo-German Parliamentary Friendship Group, Markus Frohnmaier extended the invitation, the Minister’s office said on Thursday.

Mr. Sridhar Babu is expected to visit Germany in January. During the visit, he is likely to hold discussions with senior officials of the German Federal Government, leading industrialists and representatives of innovation- and technology-driven enterprises.

The meetings are expected to focus on strengthening industrial partnerships, promoting investment opportunities in Telangana, facilitating market access for Telangana-based companies, enabling technology collaboration and transfer, and expanding cooperation in key growth sectors such as advanced manufacturing, information technology, digital innovation and sustainable industries, his office said in a release.

On Thursday, the Minister also held discussions at the Secretariat with German Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) Foundation representatives Sabine Fandrych, Mirco Gunther, and Christoph Mohr. He briefed them on Telangana’s industry-friendly policies, ease-of-doing-business reforms, and the welfare initiatives being implemented in the State.

Telangana is emerging as one of the most attractive destinations for foreign investments. The State has successfully built a robust ecosystem for IT, aerospace, manufacturing, and the pharmaceutical sectors. The State is committed to strengthening Germany-Telangana cooperation in trade and industrial development, he said.
