Learner Circle, an international edtech platform, has announced ‘Writathon 5.0’, an interschool creative writing competition to celebrate Chennai’s young writers and connect them to a worldwide community of young authors.

Open to students aged eight to 18, it invites entries in poetry, short story, and novella categories until 20 November, 2025. Winners will receive a PlayStation 5, iPad, and Hoverboard, with their works launched at the 49th Chennai Book Fair. “When children see their stories printed as books, something shifts — they begin to believe that their ideas can travel, and that belief stays with them for life,” says Anuradha Venkatachalam, co-founder and COO of Learner Circle. Selected participants can also publish through Learner Circle’s Young Authors Program. Participation is free; schools in the city can register at https://wr8.ai/writathon
