‘Skanda Shashti’ or ‘Subramanya Shashti’ was observed with religious fervour in various temples dedicated to Lord Subramanya Swamy in Rayalaseema districts on Wednesday.
Government Whip and MLA Reddeppagari Madhavi, accompanied by TDP politbureau member and district president R. Srinivasa Reddy, offered prayers at the famous Subramanya Swamy temple in Kadapa and participated in the ‘Skanda Shashti’ festivities.
The duo garlanded the huge statue located at the temple premises, while the priests showered Vedic hymns (Vedasirvachanam) on them. Ms. Madhavi Reddy offered to extend all support towards the development of the temple, in tune with the rising devotee footfall.
Similarly, Chandragiri MLA Pulivarthi Nani, accompanied by his spouse and TDP leader Pulivarthi Sudha Reddy, offered prayers at Valli Devasena Sametha Subramanya Swamy temple in Ootlavaripalle in Pakala mandal in Tirupati district. They participated in the ‘Kalyanotsavam’ performed at the temple and distributed food to the visiting devotees.
