Swachh Mangaluru Abhiyan volunteers cleaned Hampankatta area in the city during November’s cleanliness drive organised by Ramakrishna Mission on Sunday.

They cleaned the road dividers and removed waste, plastic, and other debris.

Students of Trisha College cleaned the moss which had accumulated on the wall paintings of Government Wenlock Hospital, restoring their shine.

The footpath in front of the hospital was also cleaned and washed using tanker water, ensuring complete cleanliness.

C.M.G. Gangadhar Shastri, a senior advocate from Mumbai who inaugurated the drive, said at the occasion that the Swachh Mangaluru Abhiyan is an inspiring and exemplary programme for society. It beautifully blends devotion, discipline, and dedication, encouraging citizens to take responsibility for their surroundings. Such sustained cleanliness efforts by Ramakrishna Mission not only transforms public spaces but also purifies minds, fostering civic pride and moral awakening, a release from the mission said.
