After a man made a futile attempt to end his life at Panambur beach, a city police team on Tuesday, November 4, traced his house in Kavoor and prevented him from doing so.

On Monday, November 3, Panambur police saw a video clipping that the man shared on social media, where he is seen telling his little daughter in Tulu about ending his life in the sea. He then left from there. After close analysis, the police found that the video had been taken at Panambur beach. A police team went to the beach the same day and identified the person in the video as Rajesh, 35, an autorickshaw driver who lives in Ambika Nagar, Kavoor.

Police said that the driver kept switching his mobile phone on and off. At one point, when his mobile phone had been turned on, the Panambur police team traced the exact location of the house and went there. They broke open the lock of the front door and prevented Rajesh from ending his life. Him and his daughter were produced before the jurisdictional Kavoor police.

Police Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy appreciated the swift action taken by the police team.
