Swiggy delivery boy killed after crashing into reversing lorry in Kompally

A 23-year-old delivery worker with a grocery delivery service died in the early hours of Tuesday (December 2, 2025), after his motorcycle collided with a lorry that was reversing without precautions near Kompally bridge.

The victim, Anjith Kumar, a native of Muzaffarnagar in Bihar, had been living in Mallanna Colony, Devarayamjal. Police said he had come to Hyderabad two years ago and had been working with Swiggy Instamart for the past nine months.

At about 5.30 a.m., Anjith was returning towards Kompally on his motorcycle (bearing a temporary registration number ‘TG 08 TR 2420’) after completing a delivery at Gundlapochampally. As he approached the Kompally bridge, a lorry bearing registration number ‘AP29 TA 8062’ was reversing near a parking area without proper lookout.

Anjith’s motorcycle crashed into the rear of the reversing lorry, causing a severe head injury. He died on the spot. The Petbasheerabad police booked a case and initiated a probe.
